Plans to change a disused Lincoln public toilet into a restaurant have been submitted to City of Lincoln Council.

The application submitted by Tim Benton, on behalf of Paul Gray, show plans to convert a former reading room at 2 St Peter at Arches, just off High Street along with the former men’s toilets on the ground floor.

The disused public toilets could be turned into a restaurant.

The site has been vacant since 2012 however The Billiard Club, located on the ground floor of the 19th century building beneath the reading room, which is still operating, will remain unaffected by the proposals.

Although the plans don’t stipulate which restaurant will take on the site, it is expected to create at least three full-time jobs and three part-time jobs.

If approved, the men’s toilets on the ground floor will have its doorway bricked up and the former reading room will be retained and repaired to restore the original building.

The modern partitions provided to convert it for use as a public toilet will also be removed.
