Video: Explore University of Lincoln’s £20m Riseholme campus vision

Developers behind a new £20 million project to transform the University of Lincoln’s Riseholme campus say they scheme will put Lincolnshire “at the forefront of the agri-tech revolution”.

The University hopes to see the campus redeveloped into a centre for agri-food technology, science and heritage, as well as create 750 new homes.

Outline designs were revealed by the university on Friday, March 4 alongside a public consultation which remains open until, Saturday, March 5.

With a vision to open the first phase of the development in 2018, the draft masterplan includes additions to the current site, including new agriculture and environmental scientific research facilities and a unique heritage centre.

John Plumridge, Director of Estates and Commercial Facilities at the University of Lincoln, said: “Riseholme is key to our work supporting Lincolnshire’s agriculture and food manufacturing sectors, along with our facilities at Lincoln and Holbeach.

“We have focused on enhancing the sensitive landscape and parkland setting, while preserving the existing farmland and public access the the estate’s woodlands, parklands and watercourses.”
